Artists at Work in Claran

The arts have always been an important aspect of school life in Claran. Down through the years, the children have enjoyed a range of art activities. In the visual arts, children explore the full range of the Arts Curriculum including drawing, paint and colour, print, fabric and fibre and construction. Musically, the school encourages children to sing and play in the school choir for mass, visitors, Christmas concerts and just for fun in open mic performances. The annual Christmas concert, as well as our involvement in An Cumann Scoildrámaíochta, gives the children a stage to develop not only their acting skills but also their confidence.

Branar, a Galway based theater company, developed the Arts Flag initiative with Acorn Insurance to recognize the development of the arts in schools.
