Senior Tour 2009-2010

This year the senior classes spent Wednesday June 3rd in Killary Adventure Centre, Leenane, Co. Galway. We have lots of fantastic memories from the day.

We left the school at 8.15 a.m. When we arrived at the centre we had something small to eat and were divided up into groups. We were so lucky with the weather. We needed plenty of suncream! We got to do lots of activities including- archery, cliff jumping, gorge walking, the big swing, kayaking and wall climbing.

Half the groups took part in water activities in the morning. The other half were on dry land. There were many activities on offer. The land based activities included the big swing, archery and the climbing tower.

The water based activities included gorge-walking, kayaking and cliff jumping. We wore wet suits, helmets and old shoes. We enjoyed splashing around and it was great to get a chance to cool down because the day was very hot.

Our lunch break lasted for and hour between 1pm and 2pm. After lunch if we took part in a water based activity in the morning then it was a land based activity for the afternoon and vice versa.

On our way home we stopped in Supermacs in Ballinrobe to fill our hungry tummies. We arrived back in Claran after 8, very tired but really happy. The day was a great sucess.

The next day at school we had fun looking through the photographs and talking about our favourite activites. There was only one problem - it was very hard for anyone to pick their favourite activity!!
