There are 30 children altogether in our class – 21 in 2nd Class and 9 in 3rd Class. Our Teacher is Ms. Lee and Mrs. Walsh helps with everything we do.
We are a very active class. We do Pe every Monday evening, either on the astro pitch, in the hall or on the basketball court. On Tuesday, 3rd Class go football training with 4th Class. We like to take GoNoodle Breaks during the day – our favourite GoNoodle channel is definitely Kidz Bop Kids. We also do Irish Dancing on Thursday afternoon.
Thursday is a busy day as it is usually our art day as well. We love creating beautiful art pieces in our class and always take our time to make sure it is our best work. You can see our art work displayed outside our classrooms if you want to see what we have been up to!
2nd Class will be making their First Holy Communion next May and preparations have already begun in class. Fr. Ray has visited us and given us a list of masses to attend between now and then.
On Friday evenings we do Golden Time. During Golden Time you can pick what activity you want to do. We usually like to draw, read, play games, cards or work with playdough.
In our class we collect DoJo points and count them up each Friday. Whatever team has the most points gets to sit on VERY comfortable cushions for the next week and they also get one homework pass to use whenever they want. The person that has the most points in each class gets a lucky dip in our prize box – you never know what you might get in here!
We learned all of the counties in Ireland and even learned a clever poem to remember them!
We are reading a brilliant book at the minute – Charlotte’s Web, we would definitely recommend it to a friend.
We have concentrated a lot on autumn, both in art & science. We made beautiful autumn trees which you might have spotted in the corridor.
2nd Class have started to learn cursive writing.
We like to keep a positive mind-set in our classroom and for our most recent art project each pupil decorated a beautiful quote which is displayed around the school and classroom. We always help each other out in 2nd & 3rd Class. Remember – Team Work Makes The Dream Work!
